CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State sophomore 157-pounder Matt Donohoe (Tyngsboro, Mass.) has been named the Eastern Wrestling League Wrestling of the Week for his performance in CSU's two matches last weekend.
Donohoe began the week with a solid 5-0 decision in Friday's (Jan. 18) close 19-17 setback to Lock Haven in the Vikings first home dual meet of the season.
Two days later, Donohoe helped lead CSU to a 21-17 win over Chattanooga, tallying a first period pin just 1:10 into the match. His six team points helped the Vikings to the win. It was his first fall of the season.
Donohoe is now 14-11 this season, ranking second on the team in wins.
CSU (3-4) is back in action on Saturday (Jan. 26) when the Vikings travel to Edinboro for a 7:00 p.m. EWL match.
