Shorthanded Men’s Tennis Falls In #HLTennis Semifinals

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team had the 2022 spring campaign come to an end Saturday afternoon, as the shorthanded Vikings dropped a 4-2 contest in the Horizon League Semifinals.

Despite playing with a shorthanded lineup, the Vikings were able to pick up the early doubles point, as JuandeDios Abboud and Kade Mindry earned a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles and Clark Bilinovich and Raul Teichmann clinched the early point with a 6-3 victory at the top of the lineup.

After defaulting at No. 6 singles, the Vikings were able to regain the advantage at 2-1 following a 6-4, 7-6(5) victory from Teichmann at No. 3 singles.

IUPUI was then able to even the match with a win at No. 2 singles, before gaining a 3-2 edge in the match with a victory at the No. 4 spot.

The Jaguars then clinched the match at the top of the singles lineup, earning the 4-2 semifinal victory.

Cleveland State was making its 17th appearance in the Horizon League Semifinals, and finished the year with a 12-12 record.
