Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Spring Training Trip Against UTSA

BOCA RATON, Fla.  – The Cleveland State men's tennis team concluded its annual spring training trip Friday afternoon, dropping a 6-1 match against No. 70 UTSA in Boca Raton, Fla. This marked Cleveland State's second match of its spring training trip, and its second straight match against a top-75 opponent.

Despite dropping the early doubles point, Cleveland State's No. 3 team of Mikael Erler and Maxime Mareschal-Hay was able to claim a 6-2 victory over UTSA.

Erler also picked up the lone singles point on the day for the Vikings, as he posted a 7-6(6), 4-6, 1-0(14) three-set victory over Sebastian Rodriguez at No. 2 singles. Erler now has a team-best 9-5 singles record this spring, while he improved to 13-11 overall this season.

The Vikings will now turn their attention to Horizon League play, as they kick off their eight-match #HLTennis slate at Youngstown State on Friday, March 25.
