Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Announces 2022 Spring Schedule

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2022 spring season, with 22 total scheduled matches, including an eight-match Horizon League slate.

COMPLETE SCHEDULE

Cleveland State will open its spring schedule with a seven-match roadswing, beginning at Michigan State on Saturday, January 22. This season-opening stretch is highlighted by matches at Xavier (1/29) and Penn State (2/4), along with a neutral site match against Illinois (2/11).

The Vikings will play at home for the first time during the spring season on Friday, February 18 when they host Dayton. Cleveland State will then host Buffalo (2/26), Toledo (3/3), and Holy Cross (3/3) to close out its non-league home slate.

Cleveland State will return to taking its annual spring break trip this season, with the Vikings set to face FAU on Wednesday, March 16 and UTSA on Friday, March 18 – with both matches being played in Fort Myers, Fla.

During #HLTennis play, the Vikings will face all four opponents twice, playing each team at home and on the road. The Vikings will open league play as the defending regular season champions at Youngstown State on Friday, March 25.

The 2022 Horizon League Championship will be hosted in Ann Arbor, Mich., with first round matches set for Friday, April 29, semifinals slated for Saturday, April 30 and the championship match set for Sunday, May 1.

Cleveland State will be calling the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion home for the seventh season, with the Vikings owning a 32-6 record at home over the last four seasons.
