Terry Captures Viking Invitational Singles Title

CLEVELAND, Ohio – For the fourth straight year a Cleveland State men's tennis player has captured the Viking Invitational singles title, as Matthew Terry captured the 2019 title with a 6-7(2), 7-6(4), 1-0(8) victory.

FINAL SINGLES & DOUBLES DRAWS

Terry posted a perfect 5-0 singles record on the weekend picking up wins over Binghamton and Duquesne in the first four rounds en route to claiming a three-set victory in the finals over teammate Luke Phillips.

On the year, Terry now owns a team-best 16-2 singles record, and ranks 10th on the CSU Singles Wins List with 69 career victories.

Phillips finished the weekend with a 4-1 record, and is 9-5 overall this fall.

Terry was also part of the Cleveland State doubles team that captured this year's Viking Invitational doubles crown, teaming with Phillips to post a perfect 4-0 record on the weekend, including a 6-2 victory over Youngstown State in yesterday's championship match.
