Mostardi Falls In Oracle ITA Masters Second Round

MALIBU, Calif. – Cleveland State tennis senior Nico Mostardi's run at the Oracle ITA Masters came to an end Friday, as he bowed out in the Second Round of the Main Singles Draw.

MAIN SINGLES DRAW

Mostardi was matched up against Texas A&M's Juan Carlos Aguilar in his second round contest, with the 13th ranked Aguilar earning a 6-3, 6-3 victory.

Mostardi earned a spot in the second round of the main singles draw after picking up a 7-5, 7-5 win against No. 44 Sven Lah of Baylor in the opening round yesterday.

This marked the second straight year that Mostardi was invited to the Oracle ITA Masters, earning both trips to the prestigious tournament by virtue of being named the 2018 and 2019 Horizon League Player of the Year.

Mostardi will continue his fall campaign at the ITA All-American Championship next weekend, with action beginning on Saturday, October 5 in Tulsa, Okla.
