The field for the 2018 NCAA Men's Tennis Championship was announced Tuesday evening in a NCAA.com selection show.

This will be Cleveland State's sixth appearance in the NCAA Championship and the first since the 2013 campaign. All six of Cleveland State's NCAA Tournament appearances (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2018) have come under current head coach Brian Etzkin.

The Vikings enter the First Round of the NCAA championship with a 17-10 overall record, including six straight victories entering NCAA postseason play. During the regular season, the Vikings finished with a 6-1 mark against Horizon League opponents, capturing a share of the Horizon League Regular Season title. Cleveland State now leads all current league schools with five Regular Season crowns and six Tournament titles.

This will be the fourth meeting between Cleveland State and Michigan, including the second matchup this season. In this year's first meeting, Michigan picked up a 6-1 victory on April 1.

Michigan, ranked 13th in the country, enters the NCAA Tournament with a 20-5 overall record and recently advanced to the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament.

The other First Round matchup in Ann Arbor will feature Notre Dame against Western Michigan with the winners of the two First round matches playing in a Second Round contest on Sunday, May 13.
