Mostardi Named To #HLMTEN All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2018 Men's Tennis All-Academic Team Thursday afternoon, with Cleveland State sophomore Nico Mostardi earning a spot on the six-player team.

Mostardi carries a 3.85 GPA pursuing a degree in business and marketing, and has been named to the Cleveland State Dean's List every semester of his collegiate career. Last year, Mostardi was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, while he is also a two-time CSU Athletic Academic Honoree.

On the court, Mostardi has been Cleveland State's top singles player, owning a team-best 24-7 record on the year. Mostardi, who has played the entire spring at No. 1 singles, stands at 12-3 during dual match play, including a 4-1 mark against Horizon League opponents.

In doubles action, Mostardi has tallied a 15-8 record, including a 2-1 mark as part of Cleveland State's top doubles team during league play.

Throughout the spring, Mostardi has been named the Horizon League Singles Player of the Week four times – the only league player to earn more than two weekly accolades this season.

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with Academic All-League honors in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher (Based on a 4.00 scale) and have completed at least one year at the member institution.
