UPDATED QUALIFYING SINGLES DRAW | MAIN SINGLES DRAW | UPDATED MAIN DOUBLES DRAW

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – After picking up their third singles win over the last two days, Nico Mostardi and Luke Phillips both advanced to the Main Singles Draw at the ITA Regional, and will join teammate Matthew Terry in the main singles bracket.

"It was a pretty exciting experience this morning, with all three of our qualifying matches on courts right beside each other we were really able to cheer everybody on and get some quality wins," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "With both Nico and Luke qualifying into the main draw to join Matthew, this is definitely the most we have had in the main draw at a regional tournament, which is awesome. We know there is still work to be done though, and we are excited to hit the courts again tomorrow."

After picking up a pair of straight-set victories in his first and second round matchups yesterday, Mostardi was able to continue his momentum in his third round match Friday, picking up a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Davis Wong of Michigan State.

"Nico played another solid match today, he was in control the entire time and has been playing really well over the last two days. Nico's service game is one of his best strengths and he continues to pick up major points when he is on serve. Nico was definitely on a mission today, and proved that he belongs in the main singles draw," Etzkin said.

Phillips once again had to battle for his third round win, as he was able to pick up a 7-6 (4), 6-7 (3), 7-5 victory over Notre Dame's Paul Gota, after posting back-to-back wins in his first and second round matchups yesterday.

"Luke continues to push the bar higher and higher with every match he plays, and he continues to impress me every time he steps on the court. He was able to pick up a hard-fought win against a very talented local kid, and continued to just battle it out on the court for every point," Etzkin said.

With their victories Friday, Mostardi and Phillips both earned a spot in the Main Singles Draw, joining teammate Matthew Terry who earned a bid into the Main Draw earlier this week.

The Vikings also hit the court for the first round of the Main Doubles Draw Friday, with both doubles teams of Mostardi/Phillips and Benjamin Slade/Matthew Terry, dropping 8-3 matches in the opening round.
