Men’s Tennis Set For Louisville Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will continue their fall season at the Louisville Invitational this weekend, taking part in the three-day tournament Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 15.

The Louisville Invitational will be a flighted tournament, with three flights for singles and three flights for doubles. Cleveland State will be one of 14 teams at the event, including Horizon League opponent Wright State.

This will be the second of four fall tournaments for the Vikings this season, as they opened the 2017-18 slate at the Purdue Fall Invitational (Sept. 15-17), and will also participate in the ITA Midwest Regional (October 19-22) and host the second annual Viking Invitational (November 3-5).

The Vikings had a strong showing at the Purdue Fall Invitational during their first weekend of play, with freshman Matthew Terry bringing home the Singles A Flight title and the doubles team of Nico Mostardi and Luke Phillips capturing the Flight A crown.

During his first collegiate tournament, Terry posted a perfect 4-0 weekend, picking up wins against Butler, Illinois State, Marquette, and Ball State.

The Cleveland State doubles team of Mostardi and Phillips recorded an undefeated 4-0 mark during the first weekend of play, earning wins over Ball State, Washington University, IUPUI, and Bucknell.
