Terry Wins Singles A Flight At Purdue Fall Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – For the second straight day the Cleveland State men's tennis team captured a title at the Purdue Fall Invitational, with freshman Matthew Terry claiming the A Flight championship for his first individual title of his collegiate career.

COMPLETE RESULTS

"Matt had a good tournament this weekend, he competed really well and got some good wins against some good players," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "It was exciting for us to come away from this opening weekend tournament with a singles and doubles championship - really getting us off on the right foot to start the season. Hopefully we can carry this momentum into practice over the next couple weeks and prepare for our next fall tournament and hopefully come away with some more titles!"

For the weekend, Terry went 4-0 in the Singles A Flight, including a 6-4, 7-5 straight-set victory over Ball State's Nemanja Guzina in the championship match Sunday morning.

Cleveland State's next fall tournament will take place over the weekend of October 13 through October 15, as the Vikings will travel south for the Louisville Invitational.
