Men’s Tennis Set For ITA Midwest Regional

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will return to action at the ITA Midwest Regional this week, with six Vikings playing in the singles draws and three doubles teams competing. This year's Midwest Regional will be hosted at Ohio State, and will take place Thursday, October 20 through Monday, October 24.

Main Singles Draw
Freshman Nico Mostardi is the lone Viking to earn a spot in the Main Singles Draw, earning a top-24 seed (No. 23) in the 64-player bracket. After playing in just one tournament this fall, Mostardi owns a 1-2 collegiate singles record.

Qualifying Singles Draw
The five Vikings earning a spot in the Qualifying Singles Draw are Mirko Radosevic, Colton Buffington, Benjamin Slade, Kevin Goth, and Andre Mick. This group will be trying for three singles wins over the first two days of the tournament, which will advance them to the Main Singles Draw.

Main Doubles Draw
Cleveland State's three doubles teams that earned a spot in the Main Doubles Draw are; Mostardi/Mick, Radosevic/Slade, and Buffington/Goth.

The Midwest Regional Field
Cleveland State will be one of 20 teams competing at the Midwest Regional, including Horizon League opponents Detroit, UIC, Valparaiso, Youngstown State, and Green Bay.

Qualifying Singles Draw | Consists of 64 players, with the final eight advancing to the main singles draw.

Main Singles Draw | Consists of 64 players, including the eight players that advanced through the qualifying bracket, with the winner earning a berth in the ITA National Indoor Championship.

Main Doubles Draw | Consists of 64 doubles teams, with the winner earning a berth in the ITA National Indoor Championship.
