Men's Swimming and Diving Team Still Unbeaten

Olean, NY - The Cleveland State men's swimming and diving team (3-0) remains unbeaten after defeating St. Bonaventure (2-3) 132-109 on Saturday in Olean, NY.

The Vikes took the top two spots in the 1,000 freestyle, with Junior Thiago Lazarini (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Universitario) grabbing first with a time of 9:59.58 and junior Andrew Hancock (Cambridge Gardens, Australia/St. Mary's) finishing second with a 10:12.55.

Sophomore Warren Vickers (Durban, South Africa/Durban) had another strong performance for the Vikings, taking first in the 100 freestyle (:48.19) and 200 freestyle (1:44.37) events. Vickers also swam the anchor leg for CSU in its first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.

Freshman Cleveland Brown V (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) continued his dominance in the 50 freestyle, taking first (:21.88) just ahead of junior Stanimir Kachakov (Velingrad, Bulgaria/Vassil Levski) who touched in with a :22.09.

CSU also won the battle of the boards, as sophomore diver Chris Jones (Brookpark, Ohio/Berea) brought home a first in the 1 meter and 3 meter competitions.

The Vikings host their only home meet of 2001 when they take on Baldwin Wallace College and Gannon University on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m.
