CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State University men's and women's swimming & diving teams are set to host their biggest event of the season as both programs are hosting the Horizon League Championships this week.
The four-day meet runs Wednesday, Feb. 21, through Saturday, Feb. 24. CSU last hosted the meet in 2014, with this year representing the 11th time Cleveland has hosted the men's HL meet and the 10th such occasion for women.

The Cleveland State men have been among the top two at the League meet in five of the past six years. The Vikings posted 663 points at the event last year, their highest such total since 2013.
Freshman Dominik Niedzialek enters the meet with the fastest time this season in the 200 backstroke (1:47.23). He also sits among the top five in the 100 back and, together with junior Jason van der Touw, gives the Vikings two of the top three fastest marks in the 500 freestyle. CSU has five among the top 12 fastest in the 500 entering the meet.
Van der Touw enters with the second-fastest time in the 200 free and is among the top eight fastest in the 100 as well.
Junior Jared Stergar is the reigning League champion in the 200 breaststroke, as he was seeded sixth a year ago but still managed to win the event. The Viking men have four swimmers projected to score in the 400 IM.
The Viking women improved two places at last year's League meet from the year prior and once again appear poised to move further up the standings.
Junior Molly McNamara has dominated the butterfly events this season, breaking her own League record in the 200 and earning NCAA 'B' cut times in both events. She will be seeking her second straight 200 fly title and her initial 100 fly gold.
Sophomore Gabriella Marinelli and freshman Irena Weclawiak give the CSU women two of the four fastest entries in the 200 free while Marinelli is also among the top three in the 100 free.
Cleveland State will really look to do some damage in the women's 100 breaststroke. CSU has two of the top three entries, four of the top eight and six among the top 16 in that event.
The Vikings also enter with the fastest time in the women's 400 medley relay, as junior Cassandra Oltman, senior Tobie Zeller, McNamara and Marinelli posted the top time this season at the 2017 Magnus Cup. Oltman and senior Jamie VanDewerker are both among the top five entries in the 100 back as well.
