CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State University men's and women's swimming and diving teams have reached the pinnacle of their seasons as both programs head to the Horizon League Championships this week.

The League Championships are being held Wednesday through Saturday at UIC. Live video of the finals will be available each day on ESPN3. Fans can also follow the Vikings' performances in Chicago via the teams' Twitter account (@VikingSwimming). Links to the psych sheet, meet schedule and championship headquarters pages are available at the top of this article.

The Viking men have finished first or second in the League meet in three of the past four years. CSU's most recent title came in 2013, as it finished second in the 2016 championships. At the Magnus Cup earlier this season, the meet with the most similar format to the League meet on CSU's schedule, the Viking men ran away from the competition and won with 1,608.5 points.

Senior Philipp Sikatzki will look to further pad an already impressive resume over the remainder of the week. The reigning League Swimming Athlete of the Year has collected five individual League titles. He won all three individual events he entered at last year's League meet in League record time. He has surpassed NCAA 'B' cut times in four events this season (100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 200 IM).

Sophomores Tommi Wolst and Curtis Roden have also hit NCAA qualifying standards this season. Wolst broke the school record in the 200 backstroke with a 'B' cut and also surpassed the NCAA standard in the 100 breaststroke. Roden has come on strong on the diving board at the end of the season, particular in the 3-meter event. He surpassed the NCAA Zones qualifying standard in a dual at the end of January and then scored over 25 points higher than that in the first week of February.

The CSU women are poised to rebound from a seventh-place finish at last year's League Championships, as they look to jump back into the top half of the conference. The Vikings had a promising performance at the Magnus Cup earlier this season as they notched their highest finish (fourth) and highest point total (800.5) since 2013.

Sophomore Molly McNamara will look to build upon a noteworthy rookie campaign that saw her claim the League's Freshman of the Year honor. McNamara has the top time in the League this season in both butterfly disciplines and should also seriously contend for a medal in the 200 IM. She broke the school record in the 100 fly at the Magnus Cup and was under the NCAA 'B' time as well.

Junior Tobie Zeller enters the League meet with the second-fastest time this season in the 100 breaststroke. Freshman Gabriella Marinelli has the potential to make an impact in the sprint freestyle events in her first collegiate conference championships. Sophomore Cassandra Oltman and junior Jamie VanDewerker should both figure prominently for the Vikings in the 100 backstroke. Senior Tori Taffner will lead the CSU women on the diving board in her final go-around, after she competed at the NCAA Zones meet a season ago.
