CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Cleveland State men's swimming and diving team competed in the Third Annual Magnus Cup on day two at Busbey Natatorium. Cleveland State has tallied 1185 points, which is good enough for first through the first two days.
In the finals for the men, junior Danny Roberts finished first in the 1-meter dive with a career-high and meet record score of 340.05. The 200 yard medley relay team, consisted of Philipp Sikatzki, Phillip Brittain, Adam Ingledew, and Declan McLaughlin, placed first with a meet record time of 1:26.66. Philipp Sikatzki won the 100 butterfly with a meet record time and Division 1 B-cut time of 47.69 and also the 100 backstroke with not only a meet record time but also a school record and Division 1 B-cut time of 48.11. In the 100 yard breastroke, Phillip Brittain came in third with a time of 56.71.
The men finished off the day by placing third in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 6:55.81.
"Another outstanding night of racing. The team came out and was more focused than yesterday. We were able to carry it throughout the session." said Head Coach Paul Graham.
The Vikings will be back in the pool tomorrow (Nov. 23) for the third and final day of the Magnus Cup, with prelims beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the swimming finals starting at 3:00 p.m.
