CLEVELAND- The Cleveland State Vikings' men's swimming and diving team improved to 12-3-1 on the year Saturday afternoon, taking down Wright State at home on Senior Day 193-100.
Head Coach Wally Morton was proud of the way the team performed on the day, especially considering they had a meet yesterday afternoon.
"The men went from winning a majority of the events but losing close contest to Notre Dame yesterday to completely dominating against our cross-state rival Wright State University today," Morton said. "They really made a statement with this meet, we had some of the best times of the year."
Multiple seniors shined on their special day in the statement win, as three were able to bring home individual victories, in Mark De Swardt, Berry Thompson, and Justin Hill.

De Swardt was the only senior that picked up multiple individual wins as he won both the 500-yard freestyle (4:35.50), and 1,000 freestyle (9:27.18), both wins were by over five seconds.
Hill and Thompson were able to pick up one individual win a piece as Hill took home first in the 50 freestyle (20.55), and Thompson won the 100 freestyle (45.17). Both seniors were also able to team up with Alex Lewis and Adam Ingledew to take first place in the 400 freestyle relay (3:06.62).
While multiple other Vikings picked up wins, three non-seniors took home multiple individual wins in Al Shillito, Brian Ferro, and Danny Roberts.
Shillito dominated throughout the meet, going a perfect three for three in individual events while also winning a relay. The junior won the 100 (50.59) and 200 backstrokes (1:54.51), and the 100 butterfly (50.57) individually. While also teaming up with Brian Ferro, Alex Lewis, and Berry Thompson to win the 200 medley relay (1:32.24).
Outside of the relay win, Ferro also won the 100 breaststroke (57.48) and 200 breaststroke (2:07.64).
Roberts continued his dominance on the diving side of things for CSU, winning both the 1-meter (278.90) and 3-meter (292.95) dives.
The men will be off from competition next week but are back in the pool February 2nd for the team's final dual meet of the regular season at UIC at 2:00 p.m.
