Cleveland State Men's Soccer Tops Milwaukee at Home, 4-3

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (5-1-2, 1-0-1) picked up its first Horizon League victory of the year after defeating Milwaukee (1-6-2, 0-2-0) at home 4-3 on Saturday evening.

THE GAME
The Panthers played from in front after Raul Medina volleyed it in off a cross from Raul Medina in the 14th minute. However, the Vikings evened the game just four minutes later on a Kolevski penalty kick.

Cleveland State took their first lead in the 26th minute as Albert Portas finished off a through ball from Pablo Kawecki.

The Vikings took the 2-1 lead into the half despite the visitors holding a 9-7 edge in shots.

Cleveland State made it 3-2 in the 55th minute on Kolevski's second goal of the game off a through ball from Hector Gomez. Four minutes later, Milwaukee pulled to within a goal as Logan Farrington chipped Omeed Naeemy from 20-yards out.

Kawecki got the goal back in the 64th minute off a cross from Gomez, upping the margin to 4-2.  UWM wouldn't go away as Emil Lindren Pedersen scored off a through ball from Shawn Azcueta to make it a one-goal game in the 68th minute.

Down the stretch, Naeemy came up with a huge save in the 88th minute, securing the 4-3 league victory.

Milwaukee held a 17-11 edge in shots and a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.

Portas and Kawecki each finished with three shots. Naeemy concluded the match with four saves.
