Cleveland State Men's Soccer Blanks St. Bonaventure, 2-0

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Cleveland State (4-1-0) bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 2-0 shutout of the Bonnies (2-3-1) on Monday afternoon. The Green and White will now turn their focus to league play on Saturday at Detroit.

THE GAME

The Vikings fired off 12 shots before Hector Gomez got the Green and White on the board in the 34th minute off a pair of assists from Bojan Kolevski and Albert Portas.

Cleveland State took the 1-0 advantage into the half, outshooting the home team 13-1.

Pablo Kawecki extended the advantage in the 67th minute, curling the free kick from the top of the box around the wall and in for the 2-0 lead.

The Vikings dominated the shot category this afternoon by a margin of 21-2. Cleveland State also took six corner kicks compared to zero for the home team.

Kawecki paced the game with eight shots including two on frame. Jannis Schmidt was close behind with four shots.

Omeed Naeemy made his season debut in goal and earned the shutout after making two saves.
