Register to Attend Cleveland State Lacrosse Community Game

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State University lacrosse program, along with the Lacrosse Communities Project – Cleveland, is hosting a Community Day in conjunction with its April 7 home game.

The Community Day will see 200 area youths receive a top-notch lacrosse experience completely for free. In addition to getting a free ticket for the game against Hampton, the children will receive lunch, a t-shirt and attend a post-game autograph session with players from both teams.

Programming will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning on Cleveland State's campus in advance of the 1:00 p.m. game. Before the game, the children will also receive introductory information on the game of lacrosse and Cleveland State University.

Among those expected to attend are children that participated in the Lacrosse Academy run by CSU players and staff this past fall. Held at the Urban Community School in the Ohio City neighborhood, the Vikings held a once-a-week introductory class to teach the basics of the game of lacrosse from September to November this past year.

The first 80 individuals to sign up will also have the opportunity to use free, round-trip transportation from the Urban Community School to Cleveland State on the day of the event if they desire. The buses will depart UCS at 10:30 a.m.

The youth experience is available for any child in eighth grade or younger. Tickets will be available at a discounted rate of $5 each (advance purchase only) for any adults accompanying children to the April 7 game. To purchase tickets, please contact Carrie Neville in the CSU Athletic Department at (216) 687-5440.

The CSU Office of University Engagement, led by Dr. Maurice Stinnett, is helping provide funds for the event while US Lacrosse and its North Coast chapter are also helping from a funding and organizational perspective.
