Cleveland State Announces Cancellation of Hofstra Game

CLEVELAND, Ohio - For the safety of both teams, fans and the Hofstra community, the Cleveland State University Department of Athletics and the Hofstra University Department of Athletics announced that Tuesday's men's lacrosse game between the two schools has been cancelled due to the impending snowstorm expected to hit the Long Island area early this week.

Winter Storm Stella is expected to dump 12-18 inches of snow on Long Island, and blizzard-like conditions are expected as well.

There are no plans to reschedule the game at this time.

The game at Hofstra likely would have been the Vikings' second straight contest at a nationally ranked foe and their fourth against a top-20 squad in an eight-game span.

Cleveland State is scheduled to play at Fairfield Wednesday, March 15, and that game is still on as of early Sunday afternoon.
