COLUMBUS, Ohio - Cleveland State carded rounds of 382 and 376 (758) to place second of four teams at the Ohio State Quadrangular on Saturday at the par 71, 7,455 yards Scarlet Course.

CSU was one of four teams from Ohio competing, joining the host Buckeyes, Dayton and Youngstown State.

Ohio State won the event with rounds of 369-360 (729), while Dayton was third (392-381 -773) and YSU fourth (401-395 - 796).

Each team had six golfers competing with the top five scores counting in the team score, a difference in what the teams are normally used to when five players compete with the top four scores counting for the team.

"I was happy with the way we played today," head coach Steve Weir said. "The format today gave us a chance to get everbody out and we got some of our younger guys a little bit of experience."

Senior Jake Scott placed second in the individual race with a two-round total of four-over-par 146 (75-71). Junior Patrick Elber tied for seventh overall at 150, shooting a pair of 75's.

The Vikings will have very little time to rest and regroup, heading to Celina, Ohio to compete in the 36 hole Wright State/Norm Bullock Invitational on Sunday (April 5). The event will begin with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. at the Fox Den G.C.
