
Springboro, OH-The Cleveland State men's golf team secured a third-place finish at the Wright State Invitational, which marks the conclusion of the 2023-24 regular season. The Vikings finished at 11-over par, one shot behind second place Ohio Dominican. Wright State won the team title with a score of 29-under par.
Brody Simms led a trio of student-athletes who finished inside the top 20 in the individual standings. Simms finished the 54-hole event at 4-under par. He closed with a final round 1-over 72. Simms recorded two birdies and hole-out eagle 2 on the par-4 sixth hole in the final round.
Andrew Kaye also posted a 1-over 72 in the final round to finish at 3-over par for the tournament and in a tie for 13th place. Kaye had two birdies and an eagle in a 4-under front nine of 32 in the final round.
Mason Frazier recorded his second consecutive top-20 finish as he posted a final total of 8-over par to finish tied for 17th. Frazier carded a 4-over 75 in the final round.
Alex Anderson also posted a 4-over 75 on Monday to finish tied for 34th at 13-over par. Dominik Cosic closed with a 1-over 72 to finish at 14-over par in a tie for 42nd. Dillon Pendergast posted a 2-over 73 to finish at 17-over in a tie for 53rd. Ben Scheeff, playing as an individual, finished tied for 45th at 15-over par.
Cleveland State now turns its attention to the Horizon League Championship tournament scheduled to begin on Saturday at Mission Inn Resort in Florida.
