Cleveland State Men’s Golf Sits T-3rd At Valpo Fall Invite

CHESTERTON, Ind. – The Cleveland State men's golf team opened play at the Valpo Fall Invitational Monday, finishing the first two rounds with scores of 293-294 to finish the day T-3rd out of 17 teams.

Due to darkness, some teams will have to finish out Round Two tomorrow morning. 

Andrew Kaye paced the Vikings through day one, finishing the first two rounds T-11 with rounds of 73-72 (145). Jonny Filler and Jack Hanus also ended Monday's action with top-20 standings, Filler standing T-16 after posting rounds of 75-72 (147) and Hanus standing at T-18 following rounds of 72-76 (148).

Brody Simms notched rounds of 73-76 to end round two T-24 with a 149, while Gunnar McCollins posted scores of 76-74 through the first two rounds to finish T-31 (150) on the day.

Through Monday's two rounds, the Vikings combined for 34 birdies, including 10 from McCollins and eight from Simms.

The final round of the Valpo Fall Invite will consist of tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. (EST) tomorrow.
