Cleveland State Men’s Golf Opens Play At Joe Feaganes Marshall Invite

HUNTINGTON, WV – The Cleveland State men's golf team opened play at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invite Monday, posting a score of 587 through the first two rounds.

Individually, Jack Hanus paced the Vikings with rounds of 69-75 to finish the day T27 at 2-over. Hanus recorded two birdies during the opening round to notch his first round in the 60's this season, while he backed that up with three birdies in the second round.

Andrew Kaye and Brody Simms were both making their 2022 debuts on Monday, finishing T56 after combining for scores of 148 through the two rounds. Kaye posted a 1-under 70 during the second round, including four birdies on his card.

Gunnar McCollins finished T65 following rounds of 78-71, including five birdies and an eagle on hole 8 during the second round.

Alex Anderson finished the first day of play T85 in his Viking debut.

In addition, David Laib sits T74 after two rounds playing as an individual.

As a team, the Vikings combined for 25 birdies and one eagle on the day, and enter the third and final round sitting T12.

Cleveland State will finish play at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invite tomorrow (Tuesday, September 13), with the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m.
