Vikings Open First Day of Wexford Intercollegiate in 10th Place

HILTON HEAD, South Carolina – The Cleveland State men's golf team finished its first day of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate in 10th place.

RECAP:

After the opening round of play, the Vikings found themselves in the 11th spot, shooting 302. Cleveland State had an eight-stroke improvement in the second round, notching 294, totaling 596 on the day (+20) and placing the Green and White in 10th place after day one.

Junior Zach Robbins is leading the way for the Vikings with a score of 144, breaking even on the day. The Grand Rapids, Michigan native sits in the 13-spot on the leaderboard. Fellow junior Jules Blakely shot 149 (+5) on the day, sitting tied for 30th.

Gunnar McCollins is tied for 48th, as the freshman finished the opening day of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate shooting 151 (+7). Sophomore Jack Hanus isn't too far behind McCollins, as he's tied for 51st, after shooting 152 (+8).

Rounding it out for the Vikings is freshman Johnny Filler, who shot 165 (+21) and is tied for 84th.

Robbins, Blakely and Hanus all had three birdies on the day.
