DAYTON, Ohio -- Junior Jules Blakely and sophomore Jack Hanus finished one-two leading Cleveland State to a second-place finish at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Tuesday at the NCR Country Club South Course.

Blakely, Hanus and Mikkel Mathiesen of Wright State finished in a three-way tie for first place after 54 holes forcing a sudden-death playoff. Blakley and Hanus recorded a par on the first playoff hole, while Mathiesen was eliminated with a bogey. On the second playoff hole, Blakely rolled home a birdie putt to finish as the tournament medalist.

Blakely closed the tournament with a two-over par 73 and finished 54 holes with a score of 215. Hanus posted a career-best round of 68 to finish in the three-way tie.

Blakely became the first Cleveland State medalist since Anton Krecic was the medalist at the 2017 Horizon League Championship.

Led by Blakely and Hanus, Cleveland State shot the low round of the final day with a 288 to finish second overall. The Vikings shot 294-296-288 to post a team score of 878, which was good for second place overall. Wright State captured the team title with a score of 873.

Zach Robbins posted a three-over par 74 over his final 18 holes to finish with a total of 227, which earned him a tie for 31st overall.
