Cleveland State Finishes Ninth at EKU

RICHMOND, Ky. - The Cleveland State University men's golf team shot a final-round 298 Sunday and finished ninth of 15 teams at the Raising Cane's EKU Intercollegiate.

CSU finished at +32 (872) over 54 holes at the 6,623-yard University Club at Arlington, finishing one spot out of a tie for seventh.

Sophomores Jules Blakely and Zach Robbins both set career-low 54-hole scores with their efforts this weekend.

Robbins was CSU's top finisher in the tournament, tying for 13th place. He was -1 through 13 holes Sunday but finished at +2 (72). That left him at +4 (214) for the weekend.

Blakely shot 76 Sunday, leaving him at +9 (219) for the weekend in a tie for 35th.

Sophomore Zak Supelak played just four holes over par Sunday and finished at +4 (74). That put him at +10 (220) for the tournament, with the 220 strokes tying his career low.

Freshman Jack Hanus shot a 76, his best round of the tournament, to conclude the weekend by taking 232 strokes.

Senior Anton Krecic finished the tournament at +13 (223).

Robbins was one of nine players in the field to play the par-4's under par for the event. Blakely tied for third in the field with 39 pars.

Cleveland State will resume action on the first two days of October at the Firestone Intercollegiate hosted by Akron.
