Anton Krecic Named First Team All-Horizon League

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - On the eve of the 2018 Horizon League Men's Golf Championship, Cleveland State junior Anton Krecic was named to the All-Horizon League first team.

It is the second straight year that Krecic has been named to the all-league team after earning a spot on the second team last year.

Krecic ranks fourth in the Horizon League this year with a 73.8 scoring average, which is currently tied for the eighth best in a season in school history. He has played in all 26 rounds, leading the team with eight rounds of par of better and has posted two top-five finishes and seven top-20's. CSU's top finisher in seven of nine events this year, he fired a season-low round of 67 in the final round of the Marshall Invitational, tied for the third lowest round by a League player this year.

Last year, Krecic was the medalist at the Horizon League Championship with rounds of 71-75-69, winning the title with a birdie on the second playoff hole. His performance helped the Vikings win their fourth straight League title.

CSU begins play in the Horizon League Championship on Sunday morning with the second round on Monday and the final round on Tuesday at Mission Inn Resort. The Vikings have won fourth straight League titles and eight of the last 12 overall.
