Men's Golf Returns to Action at Seattle U Redhawk Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's golf team returns to action at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (April 2-3). The 54-hole event will be played at the par-71, 7,223-yard Chambers Bay Golf Course, site of the 2015 US Open.

CSU will be joined in the field by host Seattle U, UCSB, Idaho, San Diego, Little Rock, British Columbia, Boise State, Utah Valley, George Washington, CSU-Northridge, Fraser Valley, Long Beach State, Weber State, Utah State, San Franciso and William & Mary.

Teams will play 36 holes on Monday with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

The Vikings have been out of competitive action since finishing sixth of 11 teams at the USF Ivitational on March 12-13. Senior Joey Krecic led the Vikings as he tied for 14th place with a 227 total. After opening the tournament with round sof 73-78, Krecic shot a final round 76.

Krecic became the first Viking other than his younger brother - Anton - to be CSU's top finisher at an event this year as Anton Krecic was the teams top finisher at the first six events this year.

Anton Krecic leads the team with a 73.5 average this year and has six top-20 finishes. Nick Infanti is second with a 74.6 average, but has not played this spring due to injury, while Joey Krecic has a 75.4 average. Blake Prince has a 75.9 average this year, while Jules Blakely is at 76.0 and Zak Supelak has a 76.7 average.

The Vikings will play their final event ahead of the Horizon League Championship on April 14-15 at the Penn State Invitational.
