Hanus & DeMuesy Sign NLI's With Men's Golf Program

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State head men's golf coach Steve Weir has announced the signing of Jack Hanus (Bowling Green, Ohio) and Miles DeMuesy (Clinton, Ohio) to National Letters of Intent. The duo will join the program beginning in the fall of 2018.

DeMuesy helped lead Green HS to league, sectional and district titles in each of his final two years. As a junior, he helped the team to a 10th place finish at the state tournament, while the team finished third in the state his senior year. A first team all-league selection as a sophomore and junior and a second team pick as a freshman, DeMuesy was the medalist at the district tournament as a junior and won the sectional tournament his freshman year. During his junior year, DeMuesy led the team to a district team record round of 296, while shooting a 68, the lowest round in school history.

Hanus was a four-time all-league selection, earning first team accolades in each of his final three years. A first team all-district honoree as a sophomore, junior and senior, Hanus posted a nine hole average of 36.2 and an 18 hole average of 72.9 as a senior. He led the team to a conference title his junior year and runner-up finishes as a freshman and sophomore. Hanus tied for fourth at the district tournament as a junior and was medalist at the district tournament his senior year with a 74, earning a spot at the state tournament. He was tabbed the Toledo Junior Golf Association Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017, winning the Toledo District Golf Association Match Play Tournament and the Glass City Open.

The CSU men's golf team is scheduled to open the spring season at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Feb. 26-27.
