Vikings to Host CSU Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Barrington CC

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's golf team will host the CSU Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 2-3) at Barrington CC in Aurora, Ohio.

THE COURSE
Barrington CC is located at 350 North Aurora Road in Aurora, Ohio. It is a par-72, 7,138-yard course.

THE FIELD
In addition to CSU, the field includes Appalachian State, Detroit Mercy, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Robert Morris, St. Francis (Pa.), Wright State and Youngstown State. Individuals from Kent State will also compete. Teams will tee off at 9:00 am on Monday and play a continuous 36 holes. The final round will feature a 9:30 am shotgun start with the final 18 holes.

LAST YEAR'S CSU INVITATIONAL
The Vikings finished third of 11 teams at last year's event, shooting 280-293-290 to finish one shot back of runner-up Oakland. Kent State won the tournament. Patrick Luth, a senior on last year's team, was CSU's top finisher as he tied for fourth place. Anton Krecic tied for seventh place with rounds of 71-72-68. His final round 68 was tied for the second lowest final round.

SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
This will be CSU's fourth tournament of the fall and the first since the Vikings finished eighth of 16 teams at the EKU Intercollegiate on Sept. 16-17. Junior Anton Krecic leads the team with a 72.4 scoring average and has four rounds of par or better this year. He has been the team's top finisher in all three events this fall, finishing in the top-20 all three times, including a tie for fourth at the Joe Feaganes Marshalll Invitational (Sept. 11-12). Krecic has a season low round of 67. Senior Blake Prince ranks second on the team with a 73.5 scoring average, including a low round of 67. He opened the EKU Intercollegiate with rounds of 67-69. Freshman Jules Blakely has a 74.5 scoring average, having played in one tournament this year, while junior Nick Infanti has a 74.6 average. Senior Joey Krecic has a 75.8 average this fall, while freshman Zak Supelak is at 76.0. As a team, the Vikings have posted a 293.9 average, which included a second round 280 at Marshall, the third lowest round in school history.
