Vikings Finish Eighth at EKU Intercollegiate

RICHMOND, Ky. - Cleveland State shot a final round 289 and moved up one spot to finish eighth of 16 teams at the Raising Cane's EKU Intercollegiate that concluded on Sunday at the par-70, 6,623 yard University Club at Arlington.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS

  • Junior Anton Krecic was CSU's top finisher for the third time in as many events this fall, carding a 54-hole total of 213 (70-68-75) to tie for 17th place.
  • Senior Blake Prince shot 67-69-79 (215) and tied for 24th place.
  • Junior Nick Infanti carded CSU's low round of the final round with an even-par 70, highlighted by three straight birdies from the second through fourth holes. He tied for 50th place with rounds of 74-75-70 (219).
  • Senior Joey Krecic tied for 53rd place (76-72-72 - 220), while freshman Zak Supelak tied for 67th palce at 223 (76-75-72).
  • Anton Krecic played the par-four's in even par for the tournament, while Joey Krecic and Prince were both two-under-par on the par five's for the event.
  • Infanti made a team-high 38 pars, while Price had 37. Anton Krecic led the team with eight birdies, while Prince had seven.

TEAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • CSU entered the final round tied for ninth place and moved up one spot.
  • The Vikings played a strong front nine today, finishing at four-under-par thanks to eight birdies. 
  • Supelak and Infanti both played the front nine in two-under-par today, while Anton Krecic was one-under.

UP NEXT

  • The Vikings are out of action until Oct. 2-3 when the team hosts the CSU Invitational at Barrington CC in Aurora, Ohio. The field will play 36 holes on Monday (Oct. 2) with the final 18 holes on Tuesday (Oct. 3).
