CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's golf team returns to action with two events next week, starting with the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 11-12) for its second event of the fall season. In addition, CSU will play in the EKU Intercollegiate on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 16-17).

The Marshall event will be played at the par-71, 6,523-yard Guyan Golf and CC in Huntington, W. Va., returning to the course after a one-year hiatus. Last year's event was played at Berry Hills CC in Charleston, W. Va.

The teams competing along with CSU and host Marshall are Akron, Belmont, Davidson, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Longwood, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Radford, Wichita State, William & Mary, Wright State and Youngstown State.

This year's EKU Intercollegiate will be played at the 6,623-yard, par-70 University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Ky., where CSU placed third last year. There will be an 8:30 am shotgun start both days with CSU and host EU being joined in the field by Austin Peay, Ball State, Dayton, Evansville, Floria Gulf Coast, Longwood, Marshall, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Samford, SIU-Edwardsville, Tennessee Tech and William & Mary.

The Vikings opened the season by finishing fifth of 15 teams at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate over Labor Day weekend. After shooting a first round 326 in adverse weather conditions, the Vikings rebounded to shoot 299 and 298 over the final two rounds. CSU moved up two spots with its final round 298, which was the fourth lowest round of the day.

Junior Anton Krecic paced the Vikings as he tied for 18th with a 228 total (80-74-74), while senior Blake Prince shot rounds of 83-69-77 and tied for 23rd place at 229.
