VERONA, N.Y. - The Cleveland State men's golf team opened the 2017-18 season at the Turning Stone Intercollegiate on Sunday. CSU battled through the cold, wind and rain to shoot a first round 326 and rallied to shoot 299 in the afternoon round at the par-72, 6,882 yard Turning Stone Resort (Kaluhyat Course).

The second round 299 was the sixth lowest round of the day and has the Vikings in seventh place out of 15 teams.

Host Missouri leads the field with a 36 hole total of 546, while UNC-Wilmington is second at 604. Boston College is third at 611 and is followed by St. Peter's and Western Carolina at 616, VCU and 624 and CSU one shot behind at 625.

Northern Kentucky and Villanova are tied for eighth at 626, while Bucknell (634), Binghamton (640), Youngstown State (644), Sacred Heart (647), Detroit Mercy (650) and Alabama State (673) round out the field.

Senior Blake Prince is tied for 13th place overall after rounds of 83 and 69 for a 152 total. He was one of just four players in the field to break 70 today, making five birdies and two bogeys in the second round.

Junior Anton Krecic is tied for 23rd place with a 154 total (80-74), while junior Nick Infanti shot 79-84 (163) and is tied for 53rd. Senior Joey Krecic is at 164 (84-80) and is tied for 55th, while freshman Zak Supelak shot 89-76 (165) in his first collegiate tournament and is tied for 59th.

The final round of the tournament will be played on Monday morning.
