HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Cleveland State men's golf team used a final round 291 to claim its fourth straight Horizon League Championship as sophomore Anton Krecic earned medalist honors in a playoff.

CSU, which has won eight of the last 12 League titles, advances to the NCAA Regionals which will run from May 15-17 in Auburn, Wash., Austin, Texas, Baton Rouge, La., College Grove, Tenn., Stanford, Calif., and West Lafayette, Ind.

The selection show is slated for Thursday (May 4) at 12:00 pm on the Golf Channel.

CSU led the field in par-3, par-4, and par-5 scoring, while also making a tournament-best 38 birdies and three eagles in leading the tournament from start to finish.

Krecic got off to a hot start in today's final round, shooting a five-under-par 30 on the front nine. He birdied five of his first six holes and used a birdie on the ninth hole to take the individual lead and help the Vikings build a big lead in the team standings.

He birdied the 10th hole and used an eagle on the par-5, 14th hole to get to seven-under-par, but a bogey-double bogey-bogey finish put him at one-under-par for the tournament and into a playoff with Horizon League Co-Player of the Year Ryan Wenzler of Wright State that Krecic went on to win. 

He became the seventh Viking to claim medalist honors at the League championship and the first since Andrew Bailey in 2014.

Krecic shot 71-75-69 (215) over the three days.

Senior Patrick Luth finished sixth overall with rounds of 73-76-72 (221) and birdied his final three holes of the final round.

Junior Joey Krecic tied for 10th place with rounds of 76-73-76 (225), while junior Blake Prince finished 13th at 226 (74-78-74) and sophomore Nick Infanti tied for 21st place at 232 (76-79-77).
