Men's Golf Maintains Lead at Horizon League Championship After Two Rounds

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Cleveland State shot a second round 302 and remained in first place after two rounds at the Horizon League Championship that continued on Monday at the par-72, 6,768-yard El Campeon Course at Mission Inn Resort.

The Vikings have a 36-hole total of 596 and will enter Tuesday's final round with a two shot lead over Oakland. Valparaiso is in third place at 605 and will be paired with CSU and Oakland in the final round.

CSU is going after its fourth straight League title and eighth in the last 12 years.

Detroit Mercy is in fourth place at 609, while Green Bay (612), Wright State (614), Youngstown State (628) and Northern Kentucky (634) round out the field.

Sophomore Anton Krecic is tied for second place overall with a 36-hole total of 146. Krecic shot 75 today after a one-under-par 71 yesterday.

Junior Joey Krecic had CSU's best round of the day with a 73. He birdied the first three holes en route to five birdies on the day and is now tied for sixth place at 149 (76-73).

Senior Patrick Luth is also tied for sixth place with rounds of 73-76 (149), while junior Blake Prince is in 16th place at 152 (74-78) and sophomore Nick Infanti is tied for 20th place (76-79 – 155).

The final round of the League championship will be played on Tuesday morning with the first tee time at 7:30 am. CSU will tee off between 9:10 am and 9:50 am.
