Vikings Close Regular Season at Earl Yestingsmeier Memorial Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's golf team closes the regular season at the Earl Yestinsmeier Memorial Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 14-15).

The 54-hole event will be played at the par-70, 6,438-yard Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.

In addition to CSU and host Ball State, the field includes Butler, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, Loyola (Ill.), Northern Kentucky, Taylor, Valparaiso and Wright State.

The unique tournament format has each team playing six players with the top five scores counting, as opposed to the usual five players with the top four scores counting.

CSU will send out senior Patrick Luth, juniors Joey Krecic, Blake Prince and Matt McAdoo and sophomore Anton Krecic and Nick Infanti.

The Vikings have been out of action since finishing as the runner-up at the Wildcat Invitational on March 28-29. CSU shot an opening round 288 and followed it with an even-par 284 in the final round to finish two shots behind Lehigh.

Luth ranks second in the League in scoring with a 72.4 scoring average and has 15 rounds of par or better this year. He has posted three top-five finishes this year, including a first place finish at the Wildcat Invitational in late March with a 36 hole total of three-under-par 139 en route to earning Horizon League Golfer of the Week honors.

Anton Krecic is second on the team with a 74.2 scoring average and is coming off a tie for sixth place a the Wildcat Invitational. He fired a final round two-under-par 69, earning his third top-10 finish of the season.

Prince has a 74.7 average this year, while Joey Krecic (75.0) and Infanti (75.3) round out CSU's top five. McAdoo has played nine rounds this year - six as an individual - with an 81.1 average. He carded a season-low round of even-par 72 in his last round, the final round of the Colleton River Collegiate.

The Vikings are back in action at the Horizon League Championship from April 23-25 at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. CSU has won the last three League titles and seven of the last 11 overall.
