Luth Named Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State senior Patrick Luth (Medina, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Week after sharing medalist honors at the Wildcat Invitational.

This marks the second time this year that Luth has earned the award (March 1).

Luth, who captured his first career tournament win, opened the event with a three-under-par 68 on Monday and shot even-par 71 on Tuesday to share top honors at the tournament with a 36-hole total of 139.

He became the first CSU player to win an event since Joey Krecic won the Wright State Invitational in April of 2016.

Luth's performance helped the Vikings claim a runner-up finish in the 19 team field. CSU shot a first round 288 and was in fourth place before moving up two spots after a final round even-par 284.

CSU will be out of action until April 14-15 when the Vikings compete in the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie, Ind. It will be the final tournament before the Horizon League Championship.
