Vikings Tied for Fifth After Two Rounds of Seahawk Intercollegiate

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Cleveland State men's golf team is tied for fifth place out of 12 teams after the opening two rounds of the Seahawk Intercollegiate that began on Sunday at the par-72 Country Club of Landfall.

Kent State leads the 12 team field with a 36 hole total of 572, while the teams in second through ninth place are separated by just eight shots.

Richmond is in second place at 608, one shot ahead of third place Rhode Island (609), while North Carolina is in fourth place at 612. CSU and Davidson are tied for fifth place at 613, while Army is seventh at 617, Rutgers is eighth at 618 and Campbell and South Alabama tied for ninth at 619.

Host UNC-Wilmington (622) and Akron (633) round out the field.

Sophomore Nick Infanti is tied for 12th place overall. He opened with a 78 and shot a one-under-par 71 in the afternoon for a 36 hole total of 149. Infanti was one of just 10 players in the 76 player field to fire an under-par round in the afternoon.

Junior Joey Krecic shot 76-78 (154) and is tied for 30th place, while senior Patrick Lith is tied for 35th place at 156 (79-77). Junior Blake Prince and sophomore Anton Krecic are tied for 40th place with 36 hole scores of 157.

Prince is tied for second in the field with a 4.38 average on the par-fives, playing them in five-under-par today. Joey Krecic made 23 pars today, tied for the fourth most in the field, while Infanti's 22 pars were tied for the fifth most.

The final round of the event will be played on Monday with the Vikings playing with North Carolina and Davidson.
