Vikings in 7th Place After Two Round of Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Cleveland State men's golf team opened the spring season by competing in the first two rounds of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Monday at The Wexford Plantation course, an Arnold Palmer signature course, which measures 6,913 yards and is a par 72 layout.

CSU is in seventh place out of 18 teams. The Vikings shot an opening round 307 and were 16 shots better in the afternoon round with a 291, which was tied for the fourth lowest round of the afternoon and just four shots off the low round of the day.

USC-Aiken and Radford are tied for the 36 hole lead at 588 and are followed by Gardner-Webb (589), Winthrop (593), Akron and Mercy (595) and CSU (598).

Davidson and High Point are tied for eighth place at 599, while Wofford and Eastern Kentucky round out the top-10 at 605.

Oakland is the only other Horizon League team in the field and is in 16th place at 618.

Juniors Joey Krecic and Blake Prince are tied for 20th place in the field at 149. Krecic opened with a 79 and came back with a 70 in the second round. Prince shot rounds of 75-74.

Sophomore Anton Krecic is tied for 30th place at 150 (77-73), while sophomore Nick Infanti shot back-to-back rounds of 76 and is tied for 37th place at 152. Senior Patrick Luth is tied for 45th place at 153 (79-74).

The Vikings conclude play in the event with the final 18 holes on Tuesday morning.
