CLEVELAND (AP) - James Jackson had 14 points and 12 rebounds and scored seven points in a 16-2 run to end the first half to lead Eastern Michigan to an 87-66 win over Cleveland State on Saturday.
Markus Austin led Eastern (11-12) with 20 points with John Bowler adding 18 points and 15 rebounds as the Eagles built a 50-30 edge on the boards.
Jermaine Robinson totaled 27 points, Pape Badiane 18 and Victor Morris had 12 points and nine assists for Cleveland State (4-22).
The Eagles led 36-28 after the Vikings' Victor Morris hit a pair of free throws with 5:07 left in the half. Then Bowler hit two foul shots and Jackson had a three-point play to begin an 11-0 surge. After Badiane made a jumper, Eastern scored the final five points of the half, capped by JaQuan Hart's 3-pointer with 54 seconds left.
Eastern Michigan, up 52-30 at the break, led by a few as 14 points and as many as 30 points in the second half.
Michael Ross had eight points and eight assists for the Eagles, who outscored the Vikings 24-11 at the line.
