CLEVELAND -- Algevon Eichelberger scored a career-best 21 points and Cleveland State shot a season-high 55.6 percent from the floor as the Vikings extended their winning streak to three straight with a 70-59 victory over Robert Morris on Saturday in the Wolstein Center.

Eichelberger, who had scored a then career-high 19 points last Saturday against UNC Wilmington, was 5-of-9 from the floor and 11-of-12 from the foul line to lead the Vikings to their third straight victory.

With the win, Cleveland State improved to 4-4 on the season and notched a three-game non-conference winning streak since winning the first five games of the 2011-12 season.

Tre Gomillion was 7-of-7 from the floor and had 15 points, while Craig Beaudion was 6-of-10 from the field and added 14 points for the Vikings.

The Vikings shot a blistering 66.7 percent from the floor in the second half and turned 20 Robert Morris turnovers into 27 points. Cleveland State also dominated the interior as the Vikings outscored Robert Morris 42-30 in the paint.

Cleveland State broke the game open to open the second period after the teams went into intermission deadlocked at 30-30.

Franklyn Penn Jr., opened the second half with a layup and Beaudion followed with another layup to give the Vikings a 34-30 lead with 18:49 to play in the second half.

Beaudion converted a three-point play and then tacked on another layup giving Cleveland State a 39-30 lead with 17:26 remaining in the game.

Robert Morris, which dropped to 2-7 on the season, cut the Vikings lead to 51-48 with 6:26 to play but Eichelberger answered with back-to-back layups to push the Vikings lead to 55-48 at the 4:05 mark of the second half.

Cleveland State made 6-of-8 free throws down the stretch to close out the Colonials.

Cleveland State returns to action on Wednesday (Dec. 4) when it hosts Toledo at 7 p.m. in the Wolstein Center.
