CLEVELAND, Ohio – Student-athletes from the Cleveland State University men's basketball team visited the Campus International School Friday afternoon to present the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Stay in to Win initiative.

The purpose of the program is for college coaches and players to join together with middle and high school teachers to motivate and encourage students, whom are at risk of dropping out, to stay in school until graduation.

The CSU players began by introducing themselves and providing some personal background information to the assembled students. The players then covered the five Keys to Student Success covered in the program—staying in school until graduation, creating a success plan, making good decisions, working hard to improve academic performance and focusing on personal development.

The Vikings took questions after each topic was presented and at the end of the session. Some of the biggest excitement from the students came when they learned that Stefan Kenic is 6 feet, 9 inches tall.

By delivering the message that success in education is fundamental to success in life, the Stay in to Win program seeks to enlighten students as to the impact of decisions they make in school.

The Campus International School is a public school developed by Cleveland State University (CSU) and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Campus International is a K-8 school that prepares students to be global citizens by emphasizing student inquiry and a global perspective.
