CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State men's basketball head coach Dennis Felton announced on Friday that the Vikings have added St. Francis Brooklyn transfer Rasheem Dunn to the roster. 

Dunn will be able to practice with the team during the 2018-19 season, but will not play in any games due to NCAA transfer rules. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

"We are excited to have Rasheem join our family," Felton said. "Rasheem has had a very productive first two seasons of college basketball. We love dynamic guards who are athletic, creative, can shoot, score and create for others. In our fast-paced offense, which relies on space and movement, dynamic guards like Rasheem have a tremendous opportunity to be aggressive and creative. Rasheem has those qualities and I believe the opportunity to be part of something special was one thing that attracted him to us.

"He'll have the year to continue to grow his game and be able to hit the ground running for the 2019-20 season. I'm confident that his new teammates will make his transition to Cleveland State a good one."

A 6-foot-2 guard from Brooklyn, N.Y., Dunn was a second team All-Northeast Conference selection last year after averaging 15.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 30 games, including 29 starts. Dunn, who scored 20 or more points in 11 games as a sophomore, also shot 77-percent at the free throw line.

During his freshman season, Dunn scored 378 points, the most by a St. Francis Brooklyn first year player in the Northeast Conference era. In addition, he set a program record for freshman with 153 free throw attempts. Dunn averaged 13.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game as a freshman to earn a spot on the Northeast Conference All-Rookie Team.

In two seasons of college basketball, Dunn has scored 855 points.

Dunn was a standout at Thomas Jefferson HS, leading the team to its first PSAL Class AA crown in 62 years and the program's first state federation title during his senior year. He averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists and was named the Co-MVP after scoring 23 points in the title game at Madison Square Garden. He was a first team All-New York City team after his standout senior season.
