GAME PREVIEW: 
• Eighth-seeded Cleveland State plays top-seeded Northern Kentucky in the second round of the Horizon League Championship on Saturday (March 3) at 8:00 pm in Little Caesars Arena.
• The Vikings are 10-22 overall and advanced to the second round with a 72-71 win over ninth-seeded Youngstown State on Friday.
• It was CSU's first win in the League tournament since a 70-53 win over Detroit in the second round in 2015.
Kenny Carpenter had 22 points with six rebounds and four assists. Stefan Kenic added 12 points and six rebounds and Jamarcus Hairston had 12 points. Tyree Appleby had 14 points and four assists.
• Friday was CSU's 11th one possession game this season with the Vikings going 6-5 in games decided by three points or less.
• NKU is 22-8 overall and won the regular season League title with a 15-3 mark, earning a bye into the second round.
• Saturday's game will be broadcast live on AM 1420 and AM 1440 with Al Pawlowski providing the call. Ed Daugherty will have the pre-game show on the radio beginning at 7:30 pm.
• The game will also be on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
• Saturday's winner will advance to the semifinals and play the winner of Sunday's second round game between fourth-seeded Oakland and fifth-seeded IUPUI on Monday (March 5) at 7:00 pm.
 
THE NORTHERN KENTUCKY SERIES: 
• Northern Kentucky leads the brief all-time series with Cleveland State, 4-2. NKU won both meetings this season, 70-55, on Jan. 15 in Highland Heights, Ky., and 78-61 in Cleveland on Feb. 3.
• CSU won both meetings in the 2015-16 season, while the Norse won both match-ups last season.
