Men Finish 6-0, Women Go 4-2 at Case Western Duals

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State University men's and women's fencing teams both had successful days Saturday at the Case Western Duals inside the Veale Center.

The CSU men finished the event with a perfect 6-0 record while the women came away with a 4-2 record.

The women pulled out wins against Case Western, Xavier, Oberlin and Bowling Green while falling to Michigan and Denison. The women were led by freshman Shelbie Seeberg (foil) and classmate Abigail Barr (epee) who each finished the tournament with a record of 18-0. Seeberg lead the foil squad that went 34- 11 on the day. The women now improve their record to 8-4 on the season.  

The men finished the event 6-0, with only Michigan reaching double digit wins against the Vikings. The men were lead by freshman Sawyer Cornett (foil) who finished the event 18-0.  The men's epee squad had the best record of the day with an impressive mark of 48-6. Senior Griffin Winterman finished the event 17-1. The men now sit 11-1 on the season.
