CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State University Athletic Department will hold open tryouts for the 2018-19 dance spirit squad season on Friday, April 27. Tryouts will start at 5:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Wolstein Center.

Please enter the building under the green awning off of Prospect Avenue.

Requirements for 2018-19 Cleveland State Dance Tryouts

Hair & Makeup: Please look presentable and professional. Hair MUST be worn down, with bangs preferably pulled back out of the face/eyes. Full makeup includes foundation, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, fake lashes, blush, and lipstick. NO LOOSE GLITTER ON ANY ATTIRE OR FOR MAKEUP PURPOSES.

Attire: All black dance shorts and a crop top/sports bra/bra top. Please feel free to get decorative with the top--look at what girls would wear to a professional dance team audition. Jazz shoes are preferred, but any shoe you feel comfortable dancing in is accepted. NO LOOSE GLITTER ON ANY ATTIRE OR FOR MAKEUP PURPOSES.

1. Double pirouette
2. Fouettes
3. Toe touch, Double toe touch
4. Leaps - front and side
5. Turning side leaps
6. Splits

Special Skills
1. Headspring
2. Kip up
3. Side aerial
4. Tumbling
5. Any signature tricks

** A $50.00 tryout fee is required at registration. **
