CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State University Athletic Department will hold cheerleading tryouts for the 2013-2014 season on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Interviews will be conducted from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with tryouts beginning at 3:00 p.m.
There will be pre-tryout clinics held on Monday, April 15, Wednesday, April 17, and Friday, April 19. Pre-tryout clinics will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Aux Gym of the Wolstein Center.
To tryout, cheerleaders must provide:
·$50 fee due at the first clinic you attend (non-refundable)
·Viking Card or letter of acceptance from Cleveland State
·Proof of a physical performed within the last 12 months (Prior to April 2012 will not be accepted)
·Proof of medical insurance
Tryout Requirements:
·High emphasis on strong motion technique
·Level jumps or better
·Stunting experience strongly recommended
·Standing Backhandspring*
·Running Backhandspring*
*If an athlete shows the potential to acquire tumbling skills, that athlete may be given the summer to perfect the required skill.
