Tim Bilbrey

Tim Bilbrey is in his 11th year at Cleveland State, serving as the Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Performance.

Bilbrey oversees a staff of three other members that provides year-round performance training for all 18 teams and 350+ student-athletes at Cleveland State. In his time with the Vikings, he started and oversees the nutrition education program and fueling station program that provide education materials and a variety of food supplements to the student-athletes in the two weight rooms.

In 2022, Bilbrey was honored with being named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), the highest honor in sports performance. He is also an approved mentor through CSCCa, which teaches and mentors others as they prepare for the CSCCa certification process.

Prior to Cleveland State, Bilbrey was the owner of 3D Sport Performance in Cuyahoga Falls for two years. Within his company, he assessed, designed, and implemented training for clients while providing training and education to collegiate and high school athletes.

Bilbrey spent 2008–11 as the Strength and Conditioning Coach at Kent State University, working with the football, baseball, field hockey, softball, and women’s soccer teams. In addition, he helped with the sprinters from the track and field team.

Bilbrey spent one year as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Easter Michigan, working with the head strength coach in all aspects of the program. He was directly involved with the design and implementation of the year-round programs for both basketball teams, baseball, wrestling, softball, both golf teams, gymnastics, and women’s tennis teams.

Following his graduation from Kent State, he served as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at Kent State while serving a three-month internship with the Detroit Tigers.

Bilbrey earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Kent State in 2003 and his Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology from Kent State in 2007.

Bilbrey has been a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association since 2007.
